DLA Piper announces new Chairman of the Nordic Board

After four years as Chairman of the Nordic Board, partner Hans Christian Brodtkorb from Norway hands over the position to Anders Malmström in Sweden.

─ A few years ago we saw an opportunity in the highly competitive legal market to take a unique position, and laid out a strategy to become the largest law firm in the Nordic region. In 2016 we established the Nordic platform of DLA Piper in Sweden, Finland and Norway, and in 2017 our ambition was reached when Denmark came onboard as the last piece of the puzzle.

Since then, the firm has seen a tremendous development and reached a total revenue of 155 million euros in 2020. I will especially emphasise our strong cross-border transactional capabilities, that has earned us the top position for overall M&A deal volume in the Nordic region for four consecutive years, according to Mergermarket. I feel confident that I leave the chairmanship in the best of hands when Anders Malmström continues our development, says Hans Christian Brodtkorb.

Anders Malmström has vast experiences from driving Nordic matters as well as chairman positions and for nine years he was chairman of the Swedish board. Besides M&A, private equity deals and real estate transactions, Anders also has a large experience in multi-jurisdictional transactions and fund structuring.
