DLA Piper advises Cube on Acquisition of Urbaser Nordic

DLA Piper is advising Cube Infrastructure Managers (“Cube”) on its agreement to acquire, through its fund Cube Infrastructure Fund III, Urbaser Nordic (“Nord”) from Spanish integrated waste management group, Urbaser.   

Nord is the leading Nordic municipal waste collection platform with operations across Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland. The company serves c.100 municipalities and more than 5 million inhabitants with a fleet of c.1,100 trucks, c.45% of which are driven by green technologies. Cube will be partnering with Nord’s management team to support the continuous growth of the Nord group and electrify its vehicle fleet further. 

Closing of the transaction remains subject to fulfilment of customary conditions precedent, including clearance by competent antitrust authorities.

The DLA Piper team was led by partners Mathias Berggren (Sweden), Martin Nelson-Jones (UK) and Simon Charbit (France), while its finance team was led by partners Björn Sjöberg (Sweden) and Matthew Christmas (UK). The DLA Piper Nordic cross-border team further included, amongst others, Kaare Oftedal and Fredrik Lykke (Norway), Petri Morelius and Tuija Kaijalainen (Finland) and Jens Krogh Petersen (Denmark).
