Mariana Chapei

Mariana Chapei is a Foreign Managing Associate in DLA Piper Norway’s Intellectual Property and Technology (IPT) group. She is dual-licensed in New York and Brazil and brings extensive international experience advising clients across the technology and life sciences sectors.

Mariana focuses on commercial contracts, international corporate transactions, and regulatory matters involving emerging technologies. She regularly advises on the EU Data Act, AI Act, and other digital regulations, helping clients navigate complex legal landscapes in connection with product development, digital transformation, and data governance.

Her practice includes drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, software licensing arrangements, and SaaS and cloud service contracts. She supports clients in structuring and scaling technology offerings, drugs development and clinical studies, ensuring legal clarity and compliance across jurisdictions.

With her international experience, Mariana also assists with cross-border investments and funding rounds. She has particular experience guiding startups and scale-ups through international financing processes, including venture capital and private equity transactions, incorporation of companies abroad, and joint venture agreements, ensuring legal and regulatory alignment throughout the investment lifecycle.
