Andreas Medom Madsen

Andreas Medom Madsen deals primarily with litigation involving bankruptcy estates and conducts proceedings before the Danish courts.  

Andreas has a right of audience before the Danish Supreme Court and is a certified arbitrator. Moreover, he is in charge of disqualification proceedings in DLA Piper Denmark’s insolvency and restructuring practice group. 

Andreas acts for both types of parties involved in bankruptcy. He regularly provides advice to the Danish Guarantee Fund for Non-life Insurers and also conducts litigation for the Guarantee Fund. 

Andreas has conducted a considerable number of cases before the Danish courts and is particularly experienced in acting for large bankruptcy estates in proceedings relating to avoidance or damages. He conducts/has conducted several cases of general public importance on issues such as prospectus liability and the avoidance of successive provisions of financial security. Andreas takes a keen interest in procedural matters, including survey proceedings, discovery of documents, examination of witnesses, etc. Furthermore, Andreas advises on general commercial law.

For a number of years, Andreas co-authored the annotations to the Danish Act on VAT published (in Danish only) by Karnov, the leading provider of compilations of Danish statutes.
