Extra Christmas News Bulletin
Merry Christmas from the Employment Law Team at DLA Piper Sweden!
Our Nordic Employment Law Bulletin is on a break during the festive period. However, we have a little bonus news item from Sweden for you.
As of 1 January 2025, all employers are required to report employee absences that qualify for parental benefit or temporary parental benefit when submitting the monthly PAYE tax return to the Swedish Tax Agency. The Swedish Tax Agency will forward the information to the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, which will then check the information against the Agency's payments of parental benefit. This reporting requirement aims to enhance the Swedish Social Insurance Agency's ability to monitor benefit payments effectively (with a view to countering insurance benefit fraud).
Sending our best wishes for the holidays. Happy holidays!
